Bake Off's Mary Berry will host a new BBC cooking show

Mary Berry is coming back to the screens with more sweet treats in a new BBC series: Mary Berry's Fantastic Feasts.

In the new three-part series, the beloved cook will come to the rescue of cooking novices, teaching them to create impressive, delicious dishes for their family and friends.

"I am very excited about this series," Mary Berry revealed. "Teaching is in my DNA and I can't wait to share my knowledge and encourage the novice cooks – and with my celebrity sidekicks by my side we will make it fun all the way!"

Mary will train up the inexperienced cooks, taking them through tricky techniques and offering constructive criticism while they enhance their skills.

For the special events, Mary and her celebrity helpers will assist the budding cooks to create their feasts specially for their guest of honour, and their loved ones.

Catherine Catton, the head of commissioning for factual entertainment, said: "We are very excited to have Mary back on our screens, and [are] looking forward to seeing her transform novice cooks and helping them create incredible celebratory feasts for their loved ones."

Emily Hudd, managing director of Rumpus Media, who are creating the series, added: "Mary's back to sprinkle her magic over some very special get-togethers with recipes that will inspire everyone to get into the kitchen and celebrate!"

Rumpus Media was also the mind behind last year's BBC One series Mary Berry Saves Christmas, as well as BBC Two's The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan and Channel 4 hit Joe Lycett's Got Your Back.

The new series will be coming to BBC One and iPlayer, but a release date has not yet been confirmed.

Berry was a judge alongside Paul Hollywood on Great British Bake Off from its inception in 2010 until its move to Channel 4 in 2016.

Back in June, yet another Mary Berry BBC series was announced, titled Mary Berry: Love to Cook.

Premiering on BBC Two and iPlayer later this year, the six-part series will see her find "kindred spirits with their own remarkable passions, share their stories, and together with imparting her favourite recipes, inspire the country to fall in love with cooking, growing and producing food".

Berry said: "My cooking is all about sharing what I know and love, teaching and inspiring everyone to enjoy cooking as much as I do."

The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
