Emma Corrin and Jack O'Connell team up for new Netflix movie

The Crown star Emma Corrin has now been confirmed as the lead in Netflix's upcoming adaptation of DH Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover – and she'll be joined by Jack O'Connell and Matthew Duckett.

Corrin, who played the late Princess Diana in season four of The Crown, was first attached to Lady Chatterley's Lover back in March, and now Deadline is reporting that Skins star O'Connell will appear alongside her.

It's not yet known who O'Connell – AKA Skins' Cook – or Duckett will play in the movie, which is set to be directed by The Mustang's Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre.

Netflix's take on the classic novel will be written by Life of Pi's David Magee. Lady Chatterley's Lover was first published privately in the 1920s, but did not receive open publishing in the UK until the '60s due to its explicit and apparently controversial depictions of sex.

The story follows Constance Reid, Lady Chatterley, as she embarks on an affair with her groundskeeper Oliver Mellors, after feeling physically and emotionally neglected by her husband.

Who doesn't love a steamy period romance, eh? Will it follow in the footsteps of Netflix's hit Regency era drama Bridgerton?

Elsewhere, The Crown recently revealed its first look at Emma Corrin's replacement for season five, with new pictures offering a glimpse of Elizabeth Debicki's portrayal of the Princess of Wales, as well as Dominic West as Prince Charles.

Previously addressing her casting in the Netflix hit, the Debicki said: "It's a dream role. She is such a remarkable human being and she really does still live in the hearts of so many people. I'm overwhelmed, I'm terrified and I'm excited. I can't wait to start."

The Crown seasons 1-4 are now streaming on Netflix, while seasons 1-3 are also available on DVD and Blu-ray.
