Janine Butcher makes her long-awaited return to Walford in an EastEnders teaser.
A stylised look at the upcoming weeks in Albert Square feature narrator Kim Fox playing up the family ties in Walford, as Janine is seen zooming through town.
The clip closes on a flat's front door opening on Janine's scowl turning into a devious smile as she makes her grand re-entry into the Square. Watch the trailer below:
Actress Charlie Brooks is making her long-awaited return as notorious villain Janine after a seven year break from the BBC One soap.
Her return will feature Hetty Feather actress Tabitha Byron also joining the EastEnders cast as an older version of Janine's daughter Scarlett.
Janine is sure to have got into lots of trouble since she departed Walford for Paris in 2014, and we can imagine some of that trouble will follow her back to Albert Square!
"I am beyond excited to be slipping back into Janine's shoes and returning to the Square," Brooks recently announced.
"The time feels right and I can't wait to find out what she's been up to for the last seven years! She is and always has been SO much fun to play. Feels a bit like coming home. It's good to be back."
Charlie Brooks originally joined the soap in 1999 as the third actress to play Janine, after Rebecca Michael and Alexia Demetriou both previously had stints portraying the villain.
During her time away from EastEnders, Brooks has worked in theatre in productions of How the Other Half Loves and All in a Row. She also recently had the leading role in Channel 5 thriller Lie With Me.
EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
