Joe Swash has opened up about his and Stacey Solomon's decision to delay their wedding.
The former EastEnders actor, who popped the question to Stacey back in December, said it was "the right decision" to call off their initial 2021 plans due to the ongoing pandemic, as they wouldn't want to have to be strict when it comes to the guestlist.
While capacity limits on private events were scrapped on June 21, Joe says they don't regret thinking ahead and cancelling the do they'd started organising at their Essex home, just in case things take a turn over the coming months.
"We were disappointed to have to postpone the wedding, but we're living in really funny times at the moment with coronavirus and the rules changing," he told new! magazine.
"We've got so many friends and family we want to be there that we really didn't want to leave out."
One attendee who'll be there when they eventually tie the knot, who wouldn't have been had they stuck to their original plan, is their baby daughter, who Loose Women presenter Stacey announced she was expecting two months ago.
"A cherry on top of the cake is that our little girl can be at our wedding now as well," Joe added. "So it was a shame but it was the right decision to make. We can't wait."
Joe and Stacey, who have been romantically linked since 2015, already share 2-year-old son, Rex. The former has a 14-year-old son, Harry, from a previous relationship while Stacey has Zachary, 13, and Leighton, 9.
