There are so many Strictly contestants we're excited about this year and Tom Fletcher is one of our favourites! Seeing as Mcfly bandmate Harry Judd is a former winner of the show back in 2011, and Tom's wife Giovanna is the reigning Queen of the Castle for I'm a Celeb, Tom probably feels under a lot of pressure to do well. So it makes sense that he's preparing already.
While many contestants may be upping their gym habits, taking some early dance classes, or studying previous seasons, Tom has been preparing in another way.
The famous glasses wearer has tried out contacts for the very first time! He thinks dancing without his glasses might make things easier, and he means business.
Sharing a rare photo without glasses on Instagram the star wrote: "Dancing face. Today is my first day trying out contact lenses."
We can't believe he's never tried them before and he looks so different without his trademark frames.
Explaining why he was finally giving them a go, the star wrote: "I guessed wearing glasses might be a bit restrictive for @bbcstrictly so wanted to try contacts out and get used to them before stepping all over my partner’s toes (which will probably happen anyway)."
And it seems he's impressed, continuing; "Can’t believe how good they are so far! My face looks weird without specs though, that’s going to take some getting used to! 👓🥴🕺"
After over a decade of seeing Tom with his specs on it will take some getting used to for fans too, and for the couples three little boys.
We thinks he looks brilliant with and without, and it seems friend Matt Baker agrees, telling Tom in the comments; "Clark Kent with them on Superman with them off!! 🙌"
They have the seal of approval at home too, as supportive Giovanna simply wrote: "My handsome one! Xxx"
