Strictly Come Dancing confirmed yesterday (June 25) that Anton Bu Beke has finally been made a permanent judge on the show, to the delight of fans.
Plenty of Strictly former and current professional dancers, former contestants and other celebrities have also responded with joy to the announcement on Twitter.
Kevin Clifton, who stepped down from the show last year, tweeted: "Congrats @TheAntonDuBeke. Ladies and gents, your new @bbcstrictly judging panel," alongside a heart emoji.
"This is amazing news!!!" Johannes Radebe tweeted, adding: "my oh my we'll miss our @BrunoTonioli" and a purple heart emoji.
"Congratulations to my mate @TheAntonDuBeke on becoming a judge on #strictly. About bloody time!" wrote James Jordan, while his wife Ola tweeted: "Finally!!! Congratulations Anton, so happy for you."
Janette Manrara, who was recently announced as the new host of Strictly: It Takes Two, tweeted: "What wonderful news!!! CONGRATULATIONS ANTON on becoming our new @bbcstrictly judge!! Absolutely thrilled for you. So deserved after so many amazing years on that dance floor!"
"Strictly's Anton Du Beke is CONFIRMED as judge," wrote former Strictly pro and Anton's dance partner Erin Boag. "I can think of no one more deserving. So excited for you."
Former contestant Chizzy Akodulu tweeted: "Well done @TheAntonDuBeke. Loved seeing you on that side of the table", while Class of 2012 alumni Lisa Riley wrote: "FANTASTIC NEWS @TheAntonDuBeke has FINALLY got the job as judge @bbcstrictly. This has been a long time coming! He's perfect for the job, one of the most lovely people you ever want to meet! Over the bloody moon for you Anton."
Steph McGovern, who often features Anton on Packed Lunch, said she was "chuffed" while February's viral Zoom star Jackie Weaver joked that Anton's appearance on her podcast led to the appointment.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One. It's due to return later in 2021.
