Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Anton Du Beke has reflected on his time as a judge during the reality show's last series.

Last November, Anton delighted fans when he took the judging chair for two weeks to fill in for Motsi Mabuse.

Speaking on The One Show alongside fellow Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice, Anton admitted that he loved his time on the other side of the judging table.

"I really enjoyed it actually," he said. "It was only for a couple of weeks and I loved every second of it.

"It was a wonderful experience because I was able to go on the judges' table and talk about the dancing from the perspective of somebody who's been there and done it and competed with the celebrities and knows exactly what they're trying to do, what they're trying to achieve, what they've been trying to do all week, because that isn't quite the same as what comes out on a Saturday night.

"So I can see the struggle. I know what's going on behind behind the frocks and behind the makeup and I thought they all did a tremendous job."

Earlier this year, Anton revealed that he was previously turned down for a judging role on the show after Len Goodman left in 2016.

Craig Revel Horwood also recently said that he and his fellow judges are eager to get Bruno Tonioli back on the panel when the next series kicks off later this year, after Bruno was forced to judge virtually last series.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One. It's due to return later in 2021.
