Idris Elba has shared a touching tribute to his wife Sabrina Elba on his Instagram account, in honour of the couple’s wedding anniversary.

The actor shared a photograph of the pair smiling and pretending to bite a gigantic heart-shaped cookie with the words “happy anniversary” piped across in icing.

Alongside the image Idris wrote a moving message to his “ride or die” wife Sabrina, saying that "the last year has been one of the toughest of [his] life.”

In the post, he credited Sabrina’s support over the period and said he “only got through it because of” her.


Sabrina commented on the post saying simply “Yours,” and shared a mirror selfie on her own account of the couple. Alongside the photo she wrote “to many more” in honour of their second year wedding anniversary.

Many of Idris’ 4.7 million followers from around the world commented on the post, offering their congratulations to the couple. “Happy anniversary beautiful couple,” said one commenter while another wished the pair had “a beautiful day” celebrating together.

One follower even said, “I love watching your love, creativity, and contributions as a couple. Keep loving and carry on.”


Idris and Sabrina married in 2019 after being engaged the year before. The couple had a glamorous wedding ceremony in Morocco which was featured on the cover of Vogue magazine.

Sabrina is a model with IMG models as well as conducting work with various charities.
