Line of Duty's Tommy Jessop is to star in a new TV miniseries executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

Titled Masters of the Air, this one is currently shooting in the English village of Bledlow, Buckinghamshire, where Jessop was spotted in period costume on set (via The Mirror).

Previously described as a follow-up to Band of Brothers and The Pacific, the Apple TV+ show follows the true story of US bomber crews during World War II who took the fight to Adolf Hitler and his horde of Nazis.

Jessop, who has Down Syndrome, is known to TV audiences for his portrayal of Terry Boyle in the BBC crime drama Line of Duty.

Chatting about his career in front of the camera, the 36-year-old shared: "I've been lucky. People have believed in me and given me opportunities. I hope my career helps more people with Down Syndrome.

"Some people messaging have Down Syndrome and it means a lot to have their support. I don't take everyday life too seriously. I enjoy having a laugh with a camera stuck in my face."

Masters of the Air doesn't have a scheduled release date yet. Line of Duty series 6 airs on Sundays at 9pm on BBC One. Series 1-6 are already available to pre-order as a boxset and will be released on May 17.
