Strictly Come Dancing's Katya Jones and Nicola Adams are officially returning to the show – but not to the competition.

Rylan Clark-Neal, who hosted in place of Zoe Ball as she was under the weather, confirmed the exciting news on BBC Two's It Takes Two on Wednesday (November 25) when he revealed the duo will dance together again during the final.

"I can now confirm that these guys will in fact be dancing in the finals, however not for the trophy, it wouldn't be fair," he shared, adding that the pair will be dancing a "brand new routine" for our viewing pleasure.

Katya teased that they are "definitely going to be [doing] something we haven't done before" and said she and Nicola want to "leave with a bang" and "that memory of us dancing together and doing what we want to do".

The two were the show's first same-sex dance couple, but were forced to drop out of the competition earlier this month after Katya tested positive for COVID-19.

Also on the show, Katya revealed that she initially pleaded for Nicola to be able to continue dancing without her.

"I just kept asking 'Can Nicola carry on?' Because obviously that's all I wanted for her. But, hey, we're doing our part," she said.

"Everyone's being kept safe and these are the rules... of course gutted and absolutely heartbroken."

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday (November 28) on BBC One. Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, hosted by Zoe Ball and Rylan Clark-Neal, airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on BBC Two.
