Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood surprised fans by sharing a throwback photograph of himself on his Instagram page on Wednesday (15 July).

Now known for his neatly trimmed grey hair, Paul is rocking a totally different look in the snap, taken back in his student days in the 1980s.

Pictured with long, floppy brown hair falling over his face, and donning what looks like a waistcoat-shirt combo, young Paul — his caption tells us — was at art school when the picture was taken.

Even though some change in 40 years is definitely to be expected, fans couldn't help but comment on how different the TV star looks now, with some saying they think he looks better than ever.

"Looks nothing like you lol, far better looking now haha," one wrote follower.

Another added: "You have definitely improved with age – like a very fine wine."

A third told Paul: "Prefer the silver fox look!"
