After months off while husband Derek Draper has battled coronavirus, Kate Garraway has returned to work on Good Morning Britain. She appeared last week to give an update on Derek's condition, revealing that her husband is in a "minimum state of consciousness", but Monday (13 July) marked her official return.
Excited to have her back, co-host Ben Shephard shared a cute picture of their first morning back in the studio, expressing his delight in the caption.
"So this happened today @kategarraway and it was lovely having her back in studio. Thank you for all the messages - much like you I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the hair chat! 🤣 and I’m looking forward to tomorrow! #katesback," he wrote.
He shared the same picture to Twitter, this time writing: "She's back! New nails, longer lashes and blonder than ever - ahhhh it wonderful to have @kategarraway back! #katesback"
Kate herself joked on the show that her preparation tactics for returning involved false lashes, fake tan, and topping up her blonde hair.
Discussing her return to work while Derek remains in hospital, Kate remained upbeat and told Ben: "Don't be too nice because I'll get emotional, just go back to being rude.
"We'll have some fun this morning; we've had a lot of emotion."
Good Morning Britain airs on ITV.
