Call The Midwife's tight filming schedule has been interrupted due to lockdown measures, but the cast of the hit BBC drama have been keeping busy, still.
Last night (12 May), Max Macmillan who plays Timothy Turner, showed off his musical talents in a virtual concert to raise fans' spirits as well as money for charity.
Ahead of the online performance, Call The Midwife's official Facebook page said:
"Max, as you know, has been with our show since 2012, playing the Turner's eldest child. But what you may not know is that Max is a very talented pianist! Max is now an undergraduate at university in the UK, studying music - but members of the Call the Midwife cast have long enjoyed his impromptu recitals while waiting to film!
"We are delighted to let you know that Max, like the rest of our cast, is a firm supporter of efforts to fight Coronavirus. As part of this, Max has joined #CurtainUpInCrisis. This is a fundraising initiative using live-streamed performances to raise money for the National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal."
Later, Max took to social media to perform, showing off his classical piano skills, then treating fans to a singalong with his guitar.
Viewers took to the comments to praise Max for his performance, calling him a natural talent.
Max isn't the first CTM star to perform during lockdown as only a few days ago, Nurse Trixie actor Helen George performed a rendition of White Cliffs Of Dover as part of BBC One's VE Day celebrations.
Fans were certainly impressed, with one commenting: "What a beautiful voice you have I’m in tears watching you" while another added: "That was the most beautiful rendition, I was covered in goosebumps. Who knew the midwife could sing like that."
As for the upcoming series of Call The Midwife? Back in March, filming was postponed.
"Very sadly, we have had to postpone the filming of this year's Call the Midwife Christmas Special and Series 10," a statement said.
"Our priority is the safety of our amazing cast and crew, and we don't believe that shooting at the current time is feasible or responsible.
"However, the moment the situation improves, the nuns and nurses of Nonnatus House will be back on their bikes, bringing babies and joy into your living rooms.
"We send our love to the worldwide Call the Midwife family, and look forward to being back in Poplar soon.
"On behalf of everybody at Call The Midwife, we wish you all good health," it concluded.
Given recent easing of the UK lockdown, it's a possibility that stance may change in the future. Watch this space for more news.
