Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood appeared on the Lorraine show today, speaking via video link from his home in Hampshire.
The star, who announced his engagement last month, opened up about his wedding plans and revealed where he and fiancé Jonathan Myring are hoping to celebrate their big day.
"We want to actually have it here. Lockdown has been really good for both of us because we’re looking out on the garden saying, ‘What can we do to create a really fantastic wedding venue?’ And that’s sort of what we’re working on," Craig said.
He added: "So it’s been brilliant to actually get out in the garden, decide a few things, thinking how many people can we fit in the forest for a sit down meal, all that stuff. It’s been really great. At least I’ve had something wonderful to do during this lockdown."
How exciting!
The couple got engaged while on holiday at the end of March in Tasmania. Speaking about the proposal, Craig said: "Jonathan was saying ‘Let’s go down to the river and look for platypus’. Well the last time we did that I waited four hours, there wasn’t a sandwich in sight darling, not a glass of wine, I was bored out of my brain. Only two per cent of people in Australia actually see them in the wild, so I said ‘Absolutely not’ and he’d planned a picnic and all of that and he was going to propose at the same time, so I scuppered that plan.
"Then we walked past a waterfall and he said, ‘Let’s climb up here and go and look at the waterfall’. I said, ‘No, I’m absolutely exhausted. I want to just go back to the hotel, get in the bubble bath and relax and then go out for a lovely dinner.’ And he said, ‘Well, alright’. So we did that and then I got in the bath and then he jumped in and proposed. It was amazing!"
The star also opened up about his hopes for Strictly to go ahead this year if it's safe to do so.
"Fingers crossed, obviously. There are ways about it, of course - if you remain two metres apart, or whatever the rules will be at the time. But yes, we want to see it back, the audience want to see it back. There is a contingency plan with the producers to bring it back to the nation."
