A very special new series has been announced for Harry Potter fans, as part of the Harry Potter at Home offering, which aims to bring entertainment and fun to parents and fans of all ages during the lockdown.
Starting this week, every chapter of Harry Potter and the Philospher's Stone will be read aloud by a star of the Wizarding World or its celebrity fans.
The audio recordings will be available free exclusively on Spotify, while the videos of the readings can be watched on the Harry Potter at Home site. Harry Potter himself, actor Daniel Radcliffe, reads chapter one - The Boy Who Lived - which was released yesterday (5 May), while David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Dakota Fanning and Eddie Redmayne also take on chapters.
The news is incredibly exciting for Potter fans who can revisit the book in a new and heartwarming way with some very talented narrators. It's also a great way to introduce new readers to the book for the first time. We could all do with its messages of love, friendship and bravery right about now.
All 17 chapters of the first book in the series will be read by a different celebrity over May and June, seeing stars like Noma Dumezweni and Claudia Kim take part. We're promised many more exciting names from entertainment, music and sport.
