If you have a Michelle Obama shaped hole missing in your life ever since she left The White House, then rejoice, as Viola Davis will be embodying the dynamic former First Lady on our TV screens.

The Oscar-winning actress will play Michelle in Showtime's first season anthology series First Ladies, which will uncover the political and personal lives of the powerful and enigmatic women of the White House's West Wing, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Season one will focus on Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford and Michelle Obama, with only Davis being cast for the series so far.

The show will arrive as Davis says goodbye to ABC's Shonda Rhimes-produced drama How to Get Away With Murder, for which she won an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe and a SAG.

In 2017, the star won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance in Fences, adapted from the play of the same title for which she earned a Tony Award.
