The list of 2019's most-streamed TV shows is finally here – and it's safe to say that Netflix probably isn't too worried about competition from rival streaming services just yet.
Despite the launch of Disney+, Apple TV+, and longer-running services like Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and CBS All Access rolling out new shows all year round, Netflix emerged victorious with 19 of its shows making TV Time's top 20 list.
And although it was a big year for Netflix's flagship show Stranger Things, which premiered its third season back in July, while shows like 13 Reasons Why continued to generate controversy in its penultimate season, neither of them made the top spot.
Instead, it was new Netflix arrival Lucifer that proved to be what most streaming viewers desired (to watch) in 2019.
Other Netflix shows that proved popular included Spanish dramas Money Heist and Elite, while 2019 premieres Sex Education, The Umbrella Academy and The Society all impressed viewers enough to keep them streaming this year.
As for the one spot that wasn't held by a Netflix show, that honour went to Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale, which aired its third season this year.

Still, following the huge success of Disney+'s The Mandalorian – and the fact that the service will actually launch worldwide next year, meaning more viewers in general – as well as planned launches for Marvel shows like Falcon and the Winter Soldier, there's every chance that Netflix's domination of this list could loosen slightly in 2020.
Then again, with shows like The Witcher, You season 2 and RuPaul's AJ and the Queen all coming soon to Netflix, it certainly won't be going down quietly.
