Why Chris Ramsey is happy to miss out on Strictly final

Strictly Come Dancing's Chris Ramsey isn't feeling bad at all about missing out on this weekend's final episode.

The comedian's Cinderella run on the BBC One dance competition show came to an end in Sunday's semi-final results show when he and partner Karen Hauer lost the dance-off to Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden.

The duo had a chance to reflect on their semi-final elimination during a chat with Rylan Clark-Neal on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on Monday (December 9), with Chris cheekily admitting his relief to be out ahead of this weekend's extravaganza.

"I'm buzzing. We're just so happy to have got as far as we got," he declared. "I had the time of my life. It was genuinely fantastic. So difficult, and so taxing, and you had to put so much into it. You [Karen] were brilliant at taking me soul every week. It's just been awesome."

The comic then confessed: "I'll be honest, there's a massive part of us that is so glad I don't have to do three dances this week!

"I woke up this morning and I was like, 'Do I have to dance today?! I don't!' This is amazing!'

This weekend will see the coveted Glitterball trophy handed out to this year's winning couple as Emma Barton and Anton du Beke, Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden, and Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse hit the floor one last time.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 airs its grand final on Saturday (December 14) at 7.05pm on BBC One, with Strictly: It Takes Two airing Mondays through Thursdays at 6.30pm and Fridays at 6pm on BBC Two.
