Halloween might be over for this year, but there's more spooktacular good news in store for fans of Hocus Pocus.

Last week, it was revealed that Disney Plus were working on plans for a sequel to the 1993 cult film - and now Sarah Jessica Parker, who starred as one of the trio of witches in the original movie, has confirmed she and her co-stars have all said yes to appearing in the sequel.

The confirmation comes from Sarah Jessica's own Instagram, where she posted a throwback snap of herself with Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy in a scene from the film. In the comments, one fan asked "any chance of a sequel?"

In answer, the actress wrote: "We have all said yes. Now we wait."

That was enough to get fans in a frenzy, with one commenter writing: "I feel like I had to wait 300 years for this".

"Our prayers are being answered. So exciting," another commenter wrote.

The original Hocus Pocus has now become a bona fide Halloween classic. It stars Sarah Jessica, Bette and Kathy as a coven of witches, who are accidentally resurrected by a teenager and his friends in Salem.

The film's devoted following came as something of a surprise to the original cast, with Sarah Jessica telling Entertainment Weekly, "I don’t think any of us who were making it at the time thought Hocus Pocus would have such a long life."

"People tell me all the time they grew up watching it, and that they still watch it. I think it’s wonderful."

While there's little news yet about what the sequel would look like, or what kind of role the original trio of stars will have, it's clear fans can't wait to revisit the beloved classic.
