Things got a little scary on last night’s episode of Strictly: It Takes Two – and no, we’re not just talking about the judges’ scores.

Ahead of Strictly Come Dancing’s Halloween Week, host Rylan Clark-Neal invited pro dancer Oti Mabuse and her celebrity partner Kelvin Fletcher to the couch this evening (October 24).

And to get everyone in the spirit, Rylan decided to play a spooky prank on his guests. While asking if either of them are “superstitious”, Johannes Radebe crept up from behind and dangled a fake spider in front of the pair, causing them to leap out of their seats faster than you can say, “Cha Cha Cha”.

Just moments before Rylan had his guests screaming in horror, Oti and Kelvin opened up about the challenges they’ve faced while training for their upcoming performance.

On Saturday, they’ll be dancing the Tango to 'Bad Guy' by Billie Eilish, and in a behind-the-scenes video we’re shown Kelvin with his arms and torso bound by a makeshift frame.

When asked by Rylan what’s going on in the footage, Oti explains, “Tango is our second ballroom dance, and I was panicking a little bit about the frame.

“In the Waltz they said we just have to improve on Kelvin’s top line. And I really want to show that we’re getting better every single week.

“I said to him at the beginning, ‘I’m not going to tell you off because you’ve got muscles, you can do this’. And after the Waltz I’m like, ‘I’m going to tie you up so much’.

“And I literally did, I was like scarves, robes, I had this frame thing, and I was like, ‘Yeah, you’re going to stay in this the whole week’.”

Kelvin chimed in to joke, “I was like ‘Oti it’s hurting’, she says, ‘I’m not bothered’.”

Let’s hope their extreme training techniques don’t go to waste when they perform their Tango this weekend!

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues on Saturday (October 26) at 6.35pm on BBC One.
