The Duke of Cambridge has revealed that he has inherited his father Prince Charles' great love of farming — and so has his son, Prince George.

Speaking in a new two-part documentary, Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall, Prince William explained that Prince George is nothing short of "obsessed" with agriculture.

"My children are already playing on the tractors. It’s so important to get outside and have the children understand nature," Prince William says.

The ITV documentary, which airs on Thursday, 24 October, gives an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into the life of Prince Charles' Duchy Farm. It celebrates his 50th year working as the Duke of Cornwall, looking at the pioneering work across his 130,000 acres of farmland.

As Prince William plans to inherit the Duchy of Cornwall from his father one day, the documentary sees him speaking with farmers. During a visit to a farm, he explains he should have brought Prince George along with him. "He would have loved this," William said.

"I am very passionate about my farming and I just want to learn more about it," Prince William continues, explaining that he is learning as much as he can on the Queen's estate at Sandringham.

Elsewhere in the documentary, Prince Charles admits that he is "touched" Prince William has taken an interest in the farm. "When I saw it, I couldn’t believe it, I was deeply touched and moved by what he said. It practically reduced me to tears," Charles said, reports ITV.

"Because I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him, has made the last 50 years worthwhile."
