The Great British Bake Off semi-finalists have paid a sweet tribute to Henry Bird, who left last week after failing to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith during Pastry Week.

On last night's episode (October 22), all semi-finalists and even co-host Sandi Toksvig decided to wear ties to honour the contestant's time on the show.

During his stint on the Channel 4 series, Henry was usually seen dressing up smartly – a shirt and tie were a must for the baker.

"I hear the beautiful semi-finalists may be wearing something a bit different for tonight's SEMI FINAL," wrote Henry on Twitter ahead of the episode tonight.

Tweeting about the semi-finalists' tribute, one person wrote: "I love how this year's bakers have been so supportive of each other, Henry honouring Helena after she left, by wearing a spider web brooch, and the semi finalists honouring Henry after he left, by wearing ties, such a tight knit group."

Someone else added: "I'm a bit behind on @BritishBakeOff but I am so pleased they're all wearing ties for Henry!!!"

Of course, some viewers were pretty emotional about the ties.

One fan wrote: "I can't cope that all the bakers are wearing ties for Henry ... the emotion is high!!!"

"Still sad Henry's gone," another one added.

Elsewhere on Tuesday's episode, it was revealed that Alice Fevronia, Steph Blackwell and David Atherton are all going to the final, meaning that Rosie Brandreth-Poynter left.

The Great British Bake Off airs on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4, and spin-off show The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice airs on Fridays at 8pm, also on Channel 4.
