Ever wondered what happens to all that money that The Apprentice candidates make on tasks? Well, we finally have the answer.

A spokesperson for the show has confirmed (via Radio Times): "Any profit made from the sale of products created in the programme is given to charity."

So that means that all the arguing and stressing the contestants do is actually for a good cause. As well as to impress Lord Sugar, of course.

Former contestants Bushra Shaikh and Andrew Brady also revealed that all the transactions you see on The Apprentice are done with real money.

There's no faking it for the camera and no refunds are given later by the production team.

And some transactions are also made by card. "We do have a card machine with us – and a lot of people pay that way," Bushra explained.

"A shot of cash changing hands just conveys a sale better on TV, doesn't it?"

The Apprentice airs Wednesday nights on BBC One at 9pm, with You're Fired airing with new host Tom Allen straight after on BBC Two.
