Rylan Clark-Neal has admitted that he nearly turned down his hosting role on this year's Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two.
Since first stepping into the spotlight as a competitor on The X Factor back in 2012, Rylan has fashioned himself a successful TV presenting career, with It Takes Two just one of the many jobs he's acquired during 2019.
But according to the man himself, this was one show he nearly missed out on, as he misunderstood the BBC's initial job offer.
Rylan explained: "Originally, I thought they were asking me to be a contestant – I thought, 'No, I'm not doing it. I can't go back into a competition!'
"But when they said it was presenting I had to ring Zoe [Ball] to make sure I wasn't taking her job! She said, 'No, I'm cutting my time back a bit – I want you to do it'."
He continued: "I'm such a massive fan of Strictly, so I was overwhelmed when I got asked to be a host on It Takes Two. It came completely out of the blue!"

Meanwhile, the Celebrity Gogglebox favourite also found the time to praise his It Takes Two co-star, adding: "I took over Zoe's show on Radio 2 when she moved to breakfast, so it feels really right that this has happened as well. It's crazy how the world works!
"Literally, it will be the easiest job I'll ever do. I can just sit there and look at Zoe. She's a pro!"
Alongside It Takes Two, Rylan is also hosting ITV2's Supermarket Sweep reboot, and will be the face of *another* rebooted show next year when he fronts a new edition of Ready Steady Cook too.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019's first live show airs on Saturday, September 21 on BBC One.
