Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has revealed she cried following Jamie Laing's exit from the series.

The Made in Chelsea star was forced to pull out of the show after breaking his foot, explaining in a recent interview how Oti mistakenly urged him to continue dancing after first sustaining the injury in a rehearsal.

And Oti has now revealed she felt "devastated" when she learned that Jamie would no longer be competing in the 2019 series.

"I was devastated when Jamie hurt himself and I had a long, tearful conversation with him," she told Radio Times.

"For a while I thought I had no partner and I was in bed all day thinking, 'I can’t do the show!'

"In moments like that you realise how much you love something."

Fortunately, the BBC One reality show was able to find a replacement for Jamie in the form of Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher – which made Oti cry yet again (tears of joy, this time).

She added: "I was feeling really bad, but one of the producers said, 'We'll see what we can do.'

"When they called and told me about Kelvin, I cried – and it turns out he's incredible!"

Strictly Come Dancing 2019's first live show airs on Saturday, September 21 on BBC One.
