It looks like those rumours were true, as I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and Torchwood star John Barrowman has officially been confirmed as the new judge on Dancing on Ice.
ITV has announced that Barrowman will be replacing Jason Gardiner and joining the line-up alongside head judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and dance choreographer Ashley Banjo for the 2020 series.
It's not the first time Barrowman has had dealings with the ice panel either as the actor and performer competed on the very first series of Dancing on Ice back in 2006 alongside professional ice dancer Olga Sharutenko, finishing 4th on the show.
"I am so excited to be returning to the Dancing On Ice family," Barrowman said of his new gig.
"Unlike most I have been through the rigorous task of skating live as a contestant in the first series. This is a thrilling adventure for me and I hope to bring a Fresh, Fun and Fab-u-lous angle to the judging panel."
Last month, Jason Gardiner confirmed he'd quit the series, saying he felt it was time to pursue other projects.
"After all these years, I feel it's time for me to say goodbye to my judging role and return to things I have been putting on hold and have been on the back burner for a while," he told his fans.
"To all of my DOI fans, I really thank you for your support and encouragement over the years. I know we've gone through some controversies and I'm glad you got my unique judging style and honestly," Jason continued.
"It is because of [the fans] that I never cowered or shied away from serving up the truth."
Barrowman's latest ITV gig follows his previous successes while hosting This Morning and the All Star Musicals special earlier this year, so we're confident that Dancing on Ice is in safe hands.
"John's quick wit, inimitable talent and all round fabulous personality make him the perfect addition to Dancing on Ice's all star panel," ITV's Head of Entertainment Commissioning Katie Rawcliffe added.
"We're looking forward to seeing him bring his own brand of sparkle to the show."
Dancing on Ice returns to ITV in 2020.
