Strictly Come Dancing has announced Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing as the 2019 series' 11th celebrity contestant.
Appearing on Loose Women today (August 5), the reality TV star revealed his excitement at joining the show, and admitted that he found it difficult keeping the secret for so long.
"I've known for about a month," he shared. "I'm not good at keeping secrets, so that was tricky. Especially from my mum!"
Jamie shared that he was motivated to make his mum proud and thinks he's "got a bit of rhythm, maybe", which could help on the dance floor.
"Everyone says it's the scariest thing they've ever done but the best thing," he said. "You want to challenge yourself and do things, and if you've got a great show that asks you to do it – I've been asked to do other shows and always said no to them, but this one, I just want to make my mum proud."
Jamie is the third announcement today. On Lorraine early this morning, RuPaul's Drag Race star Michelle Visage was announced as contestant number nine. World table tennis Paralympic champion Will Bayley was then revealed on Talkradio.
Last week's announcements include EastEnders' Emma Barton, former England goalkeeper David James, comedian Chris Ramsey, YouTuber Saffron Barker, ex-Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual, chef and entrepreneur Emma Weymouth, and BBC Breakfast's Mike Bushell.
More names will be confirmed, while the Strictly Come Dancing professionals for 2019 have already been revealed, which includes the addition of Latin dancer Nancy Xu.
“I'm thrilled and excited!" Nancy said at the time of her announcement last week. "I cannot wait to start this new journey with all these amazing people and share the magic together.”
Strictly Come Dancing is back later this year on BBC One.
