It looks like we haven't seen the last of love ferns and crossed wires as 2003 rom-com How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is getting the TV reboot treatment.

Starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, the original film followed magazine journalist Andie Anderson (Hudson) as she sets out to write an article titled, you guessed it, 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days'.

Meanwhile, advertising executive Ben Barry (McConaughey) sets out to prove he can make any woman fall in love with him, and when the pair end up picking the other to prove their theory, hijinks (and romance) ensue.

According to TVLine, the TV adaptation is coming to new streaming service Quibi and will be a "modern" take on the original story, written by The Mindy Project's Gary Branum.

"[The series] follows a glib young online columnist and an oversexed advertising executive who both need to prove, once and for all, they're capable of being monogamous," Quibi's official synopsis reads.

"They soon discover, however, keeping a relationship is harder than Andie Anderson made it look!"

Quibi is a new digital shortform platform that has been created by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, and is set to launch in April 2020.

The platform has confirmed a wealth of new programmes for its service in recent weeks, including series from Chrissy Teigen, Tyra Banks, Steven Spielberg and Jennifer Lopez, as well as a musical comedy called Royalties starring Glee and American Crime Story star Darren Criss and an untitled action-thriller with Liam Hemsworth.

Quibi also recently announced a new show called Nightgowns, which will follow RuPaul's Drag Race season nine winner Sasha Velour as she adapts her critically-acclaimed live monthly revue in Brooklyn into a fully-produced stage show.
