Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women is a coming of age tale that means so much to so many people. The novel, which explores love, rivalry and what it means to be a young woman forging your way in the world, is adored by fans worldwide, so it’s little wonder adaptations aren’t too rare.

Recently, we’ve been treated to a BBC adaptation starring Emily Watson as Marmee March, and now a new film version starring Hollywood royalty is on the way.

Excitingly, the makers of the film have revealed a first look trailer (see above) which shows Ronan's Jo being the feminist hero we all know and love.

For now we’ll have to wait to watch Gerwig’s Little Women, as it’s being released in cinemas this December, but we’ll leave you with these snaps in the meantime.

Little Women will be released in the US in December 2019 with a UK date TBC.
