Anton Du Beke is the longest-serving professional on Strictly Come Dancing, and we can't imagine the show without him.

But despite being on Strictly for an impressive 15 years, the 52-year-old has never lifted the glittering disco ball trophy, having only made it to third place.

With the 17th series just months away, Anton opened up about his future on the show, and it's good news for Anton fans as the dancer still thinks he has a shot at winning the coveted trophy.

Talking to the Mirror Online, Anton revealed that he will be on the show 'to the bitter end', admitting Strictly still makes him nervous.

"I do get nervous about not being asked back because I love it so much," explained the star.

"If I didn’t care it wouldn’t bother me. I feel the same about the show now as I did at the beginning.

"I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying to the bitter end."

The dancer, who hails from Kent, has only reached the top half of the table five times, with his highest placing position being with Lesley Garrett on the first ever series of the show.

The star reckons he still has a shot at winning the coveted trophy...

His last attempt at snatching the glitter ball trophy was with Susanna Constantine last year, but they were sadly the first to be voted out.

Anton's partners have included the likes of Ruth Langsford, Kate Garraway, Ann Widdecombe and Judy Murray, but it seems Anton is hoping for a slightly more flexible partner this time.

"We haven’t seen me win, I’m hoping this is the year. I’m going for a bendy one this series," joked the dancer.

Aged 52, Anton added: "I’m lucky, I don’t get aches and pains. I’ve got a very good body for it."
