In case you missed it, a US remake of Miranda is apparently in the works, produced by Miranda Hart and The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons.

The news surfaced in 2018 but since then details have been scarce. All we really know is that Parsons and Hart are producing a version of the show for Warner Bros. TV in America.

It’s not known whether Miranda or any of her cast mates will be on camera but Sarah Hadland – who played Stevie in the BBC sitcom – is keen to be involved.

“Somebody told me there’s going to be an American version of Miranda,” Sarah, who played Miranda’s best friend in the show, told RadioTimes.com.

“There’ll be an American Stevie, surely. I don’t know who would be an American Stevie.

“OK, I’ll start my campaign to be in it,” she added.

Given the popularity of Miranda in the UK, it’s little surprise the US is keen to have a version. The show was a hit when it aired on the BBC from 2009 – 2015 and propelled Hart to being a household name.

While some UK shows have gone on to have success with long-running US versions, such as Channel 4’s Shameless, it can be a tough thing to get right.

We’ll see how Miranda fares on the other side of the pond. Watch this space…
