Yes, yes, yes – this year’s Oscars were wonderful and all that. We loved Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s performance of 'Shallow', and we were crazy for Billy Porter’s velvet tuxedo gown.

But we couldn’t help but feel a little short-changed when two of our favourite Hollywood stars failed to show up.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski decided to skip this year’s awards, which we found a little surprising. But now, thinking about it, we have an idea why.

In fairness to the A Quiet Place stars, neither of them were personally up for an Oscar this year, so they didn’t technically need to attend.

But A Quiet Place, which John directed and starred in, and Emily starred in, was up for Best Sound Engineering and Mary Poppins Returns was nominated for a few awards, so we were still hoping to see them looking all cute on the red carpet.

But maybe Emily's Best Actress snub was enough of a reason to stay home in her pyjamas?

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, she was nominated for Best Actress for Mary Poppins Returns and won Best Supporting Actress for A Quiet Place. At the Critics' Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, she had Best Actress nominations for Mary Poppins Returns.

So what the hell happened, Oscars? What’s with the snub?
