This Morning viewers were in for a surprise at the start of yesterday's (February 13) show after Phillip Schofield wasn't accompanied by Holly Willoughby.

Instead it was like we had stepped back a few months in time as the presenter stood next to Rochelle Humes.

Even Phil did a jokey double take as Rochelle laughed: "Have you just noticed?"

It turns out that Holly was ill, with Phil revealing to curious viewers: "Holly's poorly today," saying that it had started at the weekend on Dancing on Ice.

The pair then sent their best wishes, saying: "Get well soon." Well, we imagine Holly was watching back home – what else do you do on a sick day other than watch daytime TV and eat dry toast?

It comes a few days after Gino D'Acampo was forced to pull out after also falling ill, leading Holly and Phil to undertake the cooking segment themselves.

Understandably, things turned a bit chaotic, and even Gino himself called into the studio to give the pair a bit of guidance.

"Stir the pasta!" he told them. "The pasta and the garlic and the chilli are burning!"

"Can I say something?" Holly then said. "You don't sound nearly sick enough not to be here, by the way..."

"I'm not well," he explained. "I've got a stomach bug, and I didn't want to give you the stomach bug. Where is the crab? Where is the crab?! I don't see any chopped parsley, either!"

This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV.
