Everyone was obsessed with Tom Hardy drama Taboo when it began in early 2017, but it's been two years now and we're still waiting for that second series.

Well, we've got good news and bad news for the show's fans, as we finally have an idea of when the Venom actor will don the top hat and play James Delaney again. Sadly though, it won't be for a while yet.

Writer Steven Knight has been speaking to Collider about the second season and he revealed that the writing is "almost" finished, and added that filming will commence either at the end of this year or at the start of 2020.

He also said the following words: "If we all stick with it and we all want to keep doing it, it would be three [seasons]. That’s my plan.

"I have a destination in mind, which is always nice to have if you’re setting off on this big journey, which is what writing three eight-hours is. It’s good to know where you’re headed."

So, that's a cheeky confirmation that seasons two and three will be eight hour-long episodes each, which is very good to know.

Knight also mentioned that he agreed to do Taboo because Hardy agreed to do the 2013 film Locke – a deal which we can all agree turned out brilliantly for everyone.

In non-work related Tom Hardy news, he recently became a father of three after welcoming his second child with his other half Charlotte Riley.
