James Jordan is coming clean about his professional dance experience on Strictly Come Dancing giving him some "advantages" over his Dancing on Ice competitors.
The dance pro is actually competing as a celebrity on the ITV reality competition since he has no ice dancing background, but he recently told Digital Spy and other media that his years of ballroom training have started to come in handy.
"At the beginning it had no benefit at all," he insisted. "At the beginning! But the more I'm getting more comfortable on the skates... I would say that I can start to do more, work my arms, I know how to use my arms.
"So I'm not going to say that I don't have any advantages over some other people. Of course I do. There are other people that have dance backgrounds as well. But I know how to use my arms, I should know how to stand properly."
Jordan went on: "I have done lifts before, but lifting on the ice is totally different to lifting on the floor. It's scary, it scares me! For me, the fear is dropping my partner.
"Because when I'm on the floor if something goes wrong I know how to save it. Something goes wrong on the ice, it's game over for both of us. It's going to hurt a lot.
"People think because I'm a dancer that I'm going to be brilliant at skating. It has nothing to do with dancing. It would be like saying I should be good at skiing."
In spite of any "advantages", Jordan has called Dancing on Ice "the hardest thing" he's ever had to do in his career – and keep in mind that he once lived in the Celebrity Big Brother house with Kim Woodburn.
Dancing on Ice returns on January 6 on ITV
