1Autumn Flower Show, Harrogate (12 – 14 September)
The biannual flower spectacular in North Yorkshire has a huge range of events: admire the artwork at the harvest exhibition, jot down
seasonal recipes at the cookery theatre and watch tense judging at the giant vegetable competition. And we haven’t even mentioned the show gardens! Plus, there’s almost 100 plant nurseries exhibiting their stock, as well as a dedicated shop for garden accessories.
Advance tickets start from £12. For the full programme and travel information, see flowershow.org.uk

Running throughout the summer,
Kew Gardens has created stunning displays that use the power of plants to get visitors thinking about the wider world. Discover the world of botanic medicine, discard your shoes and feel natural textures on the
barefoot walk, and wander through the ‘healing giant’ medicinal flowerbed. Once you’ve explored the gardens, climb the pagoda for amazing views over the capital city.
Tickets for Kew are priced at £15 and include entry to most attractions, including the Royal Kitchens and glasshouses. Children 16 and under go free. Pagoda tickets are extra. For all the facts, visit kew.org

5Dundee Food and Flower Festival (5 – 7 September)
This
popular festival is one of the highlights of the Scottish event calendar. Along with a host of flowery demonstrations from Beechgrove Garden experts, the foodie section of the festival will be led by celeb chef Nick Nairn. And if your garden is packed with your own perfect produce, why not enter it into one of the competitions? The culinary creations may even be judged by
Paul Hollywood (who was a guest last year, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that he’ll return!) Organisers expect over 20,000 visitors, so we recommend booking tickets in advance.
