Looking for autumn bedroom inspo? John Lewis has taken to social media to share its exclusive tips for changing your bedroom decor this season.

While many of us appreciate summer and the warmer weather, there is nothing like those chilly autumnal walks, cosy evenings and delicious comfort food that comes with this time of year.

Although John Lewis says to really embrace the change in season, why not give your bedroom decor a refresh with some vibrant autumnal bedding and on-trend home accessories this year.

Sharing a stylish autumnal bedroom on its Instagram, the brand revealed its top tips for transitioning your bedroom this season.

Tip number one was to: "✨Buy smart. A reversible duvet cover, like the gorgeous design pictured, offers you a bright and breezy look on one side and a deep and cosy on the other, meaning the feel of a room can be changed to suit each day."

We think autumn is a great time to switch up your bedding. Whether you're a lover of Egyptian cotton bedding or linen bedding, try opting for a fall style pattern or adding in a texture, such as waffle bedding.

Tip number two was to: "✨ Layer up. Whether it’s with cushions or throws, starting to introduce more soft furnishings that can offer warmth and comfort, but can also be nestled away, is essential as we move into the colder months."

Seeing as autumn/winter is centred around being warm and snuggly, layering your bedroom with different home accessories is a great way to add some depth and cosiness to your room.

If you're not sure where to layer; always start with the bed. Simply add some cushions, blankets, and throws to give your bedroom a more luxurious feel to it.

The final tip was to: "✨ Set the mood. Additional pockets of lighting on surfaces, at different heights, will make a space feel extra cosy in autumn/winter. Our now thrice-sell out mushroom lamp pictured, which is also portable, is a current favourite with our customers."

Seeing as the mushroom interior trend is everywhere right now, we love how this bedroom subtly includes it-without making it the focal point of the room.

If you're looking for new bedside lamps, touch lamps are always great for unwinding. Also, you can't beat an autumn scented candles, to add some seasonal ambience to your bedroom too.
