Best spicy margarita in a can
Whitebox Spicy Margarita
Score: 91/100
The cocktail connoisseurs at Whitebox have done it again, cracking the perennially popular spicy marg in canned form.
Packed with authentic flavour, this strikes the perfect balance between fresh and fiery, thanks to the combination of zingy lime, green chilli, tequila and triple sec, with a herbal hint of coriander. A certified party starter this summer.
Betty Booze Sparkling Tequila with Oak Smoked Lemonade
Score: 90/100
Founded by American actress, Blake Lively, Betty Booze impressed panellists with its range of RTD cocktails.
This sparkling tequila offered “a truly unique, well-balanced flavour” featuring tart citrus and lightly oaked smoke, with a sweet fizz akin to cream soda. Dangerously drinkable – but at a lighter 4.5% ABV, we don’t feel too guilty cracking open another can.

Best aperitivo
MOTH Aperitivo Spritz Cocktail
Score: 90/100
This spritz is summer in a can. It's from MOTH — which stands for Mix of Total Happiness — and impressed our panel with its Aperol-esque, candied orange flavour profile. The level of fizz was described as "perfect" and the bitter finish adds depth.
Looking for a post-dinner pick-me-up? MOTH also scored highly (89/100) with its deep, dark and rich espresso martini, while its brand new passion fruit martini was awarded 76/100 by our experts.
The Drinks Bureau Spicy Margarita Canned Cocktail
Score: 88/100
This spicy margarita is testament to just how far the world of canned cocktails has come. It tastes just like the ones we’d whip up on a Friday night at home (if not better), with bright citrus at the fore, backed with building chilli heat and a hint of agave sweetness to bring balance. For larger gatherings, it also comes in box format.
The Drinks Bureau has a whole host of expert-approved serves to offer, including a passionfruit martini and an espresso martini, which scored 82/100 and 80/100 respectively in our taste test.

Best negroni
Whitebox Pocket Negroni
Score: 87/100
This little pocket rocket has quite the cult following. A ready-to-drink, single-serve, full-strength negroni made with Porter’s gin, Campari and sweet vermouth, without any of the measuring.
Pleasingly bitter, and intensely flavoured with rich blood orange, this smooth sipper is crying out for a hot summer’s day.
Best pina colada in a can
Co-op Pina Colada
Score: 87/100
Convenience store Co-op has made it easier than ever to pretend you’re on a tropical island (rather than Tooting Common), with this classic, summery serve. Our testers told us the pina colada “smells like holiday”, with its authentic pineapple and coconut flavour. The well-balanced cocktail is sweet, smooth and creamy – and well-priced to boot!

Score: 86/100
This refreshing watermelon-infused cocktail screams summertime. Testers loved the “intriguing, well-crafted flavour combination” and “light, refreshing fizz”, saying it matched the “quality they’d expect from a bar” when served over ice.
The brand's Dragon Mojo and Guilty Passion scored an impressive 81/100 and 74/100 respectively, too.
Score: 85/100
Like dessert in a can, this delicious pina colada is oh-so-creamy, delivering an impressive frothy head and an authentic, freshly pressed pineapple flavour. With a hint of brown sugar and cream, we can see why it reminded our lucky panel of being on holiday.
Equally sweet, but with a berry profile and vodka base, Funkin's Berry Woo Woo (79/100) tastes surprisingly natural, with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel.

Best G&T in a can
Bombay Sapphire Gin & Tonic
Score: 85/100
Deliciously fragrant, with zingy, uplifting lemon, Bombay has combined its vapour-infused London Dry gin with bitter tonic. Best enjoyed chilled, our panel liked the slightly floral notes and found it refreshing, although some also noted a slightly medical quality.
Best gin & juice
Gin And Juice by Dre & Snoop
Score: 83/100
Swap your standard G&T for this juicy alternative from Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Our panel loved the refreshing, tart melon flavour and found the gin light and herbaceous. Serve it ice cold for a super cooling serve.

Best variety pack
Sainsbury's Cocktail Variety Collection
Score: 82/100
If you’re feeling indecisive, this new variety pack from Sainsbury's should get the party started. It includes a pair of refreshing mint-packed mojitos, sweet and juicy passion fruit martinis, raspberry mojitos and pina coladas. Our testers thought this would be “perfect for a garden party” and described it as a “real crowd-pleasing selection”.
Pimentae Grapefruit Tequila Margarita
Score: 80/100
Our love for tequila shows no signs of slowing down, and we're fans of Pimentae’s update on the classic margarita. The zesty pink grapefruit provides a tart, cooling note to the well-integrated tequila and touch of sweet agave. Crisp and refreshing, it's a top choice for summer.
