50+ Platinum Jubilee Tea Party Recipes
Celebrate the Queen's 70th Jubilee in style!

As the Queen's 70th year on the throne approaches, it's time to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. While the anniversary's official date was the 6th of February, there will be celebrations happening throughout the year, with the highlight being the extra long bank holiday weekend which takes place from 2nd to 5th June 2022.
The bank holiday promises to be full of street parties and tea parties. If you're throwing a party yourself or going to one (and don't want to arrive empty handed) we have lots of wonderful recipes perfect for the occasion.
From traditional scones and Victoria sponges, sandwiches to fruity loaf cakes, and scotch eggs to potato salads, you'll be able to serve up a banquet fit for the Queen!
It wouldn't be a party without a trifle and although we have many trifle recipes to choose from we think our strawberry and basil trifle is perfect for a June party.
The perfect jug of Pimm's with all the trimming feels right also and we have been inspired by the summer drink to develop a host of recipes including Pimm's cupcakes and even a Pimm's cheesecake - which is a real showstopper.
For savoury options it doesn't get any simpler, or more appropriate, than a cucumber sandwich. We make ours with unsalted butter and thick cut white bread. For the filling we use cream cheese mixed with chopped mint (for extra summery freshness) and then add the cucumber slices on top.
An experienced and highly skilled team of food writers, stylists and digital content producers, the Good Housekeeping Cookery Team is a close-knit squad of food obsessives. Cookery Editor Emma Franklin is our resident chilli obsessive and barbecue expert, who spends an inordinate amount of time on holidays poking round the local supermarkets seeking out new and exciting foods. Senior Cookery Writer Alice Shields is a former pastry chef and baking fanatic who loves making bread and would have peanut butter with everything if she could. Her favourite carb is pasta, and our vibrant green spaghetti is her weeknight go-to. Lover of all things savoury, Senior Cookery Writer Grace Evans can be found eating crispy corn and nocellara olives at every opportunity, and will take the cheeseboard over dessert any time (though she cannot resist a slice of tres leches cake). With a wealth of professional kitchen know-how, culinary training and years of experience between them, they are all dedicated to ensuring every Good Housekeeping recipe is the best it can be, so you can trust they’ll work (and if they don’t – we’ll have the answer for why*) every time (*90% of the time the answer is: “buy an separate oven thermometer”!).
