Our favourite recipes for a speedy dinner
We've got you covered with our quick and easy recipes, ready in 15 mins or under!

Sometimes we’re just not in the mood for cooking, which is why it’s always useful to have quick dinner ideas you can go to whenever you want to cut down time in the kitchen.
There are plenty of quick recipes that use shortcuts or cheat’s ingredients and they don't compromise on flavour either!
We love gnocchi because it’s easy to cook and still feels substantial making it a great base for a quick recipe like our artichoke and ham gnocchi which is ready in 10 mins.
Having pre-cooked chicken to hand can also make a perfect quick dinner idea, whether added to an easy curry recipe like our speedy chicken laksa or a comforting cheat’s chicken noodle soup. Leftover chicken, after a Sunday roast, can be one of the easiest ingredients to use up.
Fish recipes can also be quick and easy dinner ideas. This recipe for parmesan and herby haddock can be ready in just 10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the haddock fillets you use. See also our zingy fish one-pan which is so easy, most of the ingredients can be added to one roasting tray and baked until the fillets are cooked through (usually 10-12mins). Pre-cooked prawns can be added top this prawn green curry - ready in just 10 minutes
Finally, few recipes are as reliably quick as a stir-fry and this one for yaki udon Japanese noodles is ready in 15mins and is wonderfully comforting filled with shiitake mushrooms and red peppers.
An experienced and highly skilled team of food writers, stylists and digital content producers, the Good Housekeeping Cookery Team is a close-knit squad of food obsessives. Cookery Editor Emma Franklin is our resident chilli obsessive and barbecue expert, who spends an inordinate amount of time on holidays poking round the local supermarkets seeking out new and exciting foods. Senior Cookery Writer Alice Shields is a former pastry chef and baking fanatic who loves making bread and would have peanut butter with everything if she could. Her favourite carb is pasta, and our vibrant green spaghetti is her weeknight go-to. Lover of all things savoury, Senior Cookery Writer Grace Evans can be found eating crispy corn and nocellara olives at every opportunity, and will take the cheeseboard over dessert any time (though she cannot resist a slice of tres leches cake). With a wealth of professional kitchen know-how, culinary training and years of experience between them, they are all dedicated to ensuring every Good Housekeeping recipe is the best it can be, so you can trust they’ll work (and if they don’t – we’ll have the answer for why*) every time (*90% of the time the answer is: “buy an separate oven thermometer”!).
