Hoisin sauce is classic sweet and spicy oriental barbecue sauce that makes for a brilliant instant marinade. Use it on a baby rack of ribs, which will have the perfect proportion of meat to bone
For lovers of BBQ food, you'll adore these hoisin-flavoured ribs with a sweet and sour taste. They're super easy to make, needing only four ingredients and are ready in 30 minutes.
If you have a BBQ - it's definitely worth cooking them on there for the added lovely charred flavour, otherwise the oven does just nicely.

Ingredients
10Tbsp.
hoisin sauce
3Tbsp.
tomato ketchup
1
garlic clove, crushed
2
x 10-bone baby rack of ribs, cut in half to make 4 x 5-bone racks
Directions
Step 1
Put the hoisin sauce, ketchup and crushed garlic in a large shallow dish. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper and stir everything together until combined.
Step 2
Add the ribs and toss to coat, spooning over the marinade to cover completely. You can either cook the ribs immediately or, if you have time, cover and chill them for 2hr or overnight.
Step 3
Preheat the barbecue - it's ready to use when the coals glow and are covered with light ash. Alternatively, preheat a grill until medium hot. Lift the ribs from the marinating dish and barbecue or grill for 10-12min on each side. Alternatively, roast in a preheated oven at 200ºC (180ºC fan oven) mark 6 for 45min.
