Is there anything worse than being ready to scoop your ice cream and realising you’ve forgotten to get it out of the freezer and it’s still rock-solid? Or leaving it out too long and coming back to a puddle of sweet gazpacho? We’ve found a solution – enter, the rechargeable heated ice cream scoop.
Heated ice cream scoops are nothing new, but they usually involve messily filling the handle with hot water (while risking some minor third-degree burns) and eventually realising that it isn’t actually hot enough to make much difference. Thankfully, technology has moved on, and we’re entering a new era of extra-smart temperature-controlled scoopers that guarantee gelateria-worthy ice cream balls every time.
We tried the FrostJoy rechargeable ice cream scoop, available for £29.99 on Amazon. It’s a rechargeable electric scooper that maintains an optimal temperature for the perfect scoop. There’s no fiddly buttons to press – simply hold the handle and it will quickly start heating up. Worried about it getting too hot? It also cools down incredibly quickly, too!
We tried it out on our 3-ingredient Biscoff ice cream and were able to scoop straight from the freezer, even though it usually requires at least 10 minutes softening at room temperature.
