If your bog standard bread roll just doesn’t suffice, you might want to give Asda’s new creation a try.
The Croissant Roll is a combination between a bread roll and a croissant, following on from other popular hybrid products including the Cronut (croissant doughnut) and the Dagel (a doughnut bagel).
The team behind the creation came up with the idea while on a research trip to Paris, and found that the croissants they were eating were leaving ‘a flaky trail of mess behind them.’
They wanted to create a product that was easy to eat, but didn’t leave so many flakes everywhere.

‘We’re constantly looking to innovate and make life easier for our customers,’ says Emily Stevens, Asda’s Bakery Product Developer.
‘Not only will you avoid leaving a trail of flakes behind, The Croll is extremely versatile, not to mention delicious.’
The team recommend trying the Croll with a mozzarella, basil and tomato filling. And we’ll total nominate ourselves to be the taste testers!
The Croissant Roll will be available in Asda stores from today, for £1 per 2 Crolls.
