Ottolenghi has been very busy recently, launching lots of delicious new products that we’ve been loving here at Good Housekeeping (see the black chickpeas and Botivo collab). So, when we heard that a range of Ottolenghi ice creams were about to land, we were very excited.
Ottolenghi has opened up his freezer for the first time ever and launched three trendsetting flavours that you can enjoy from the comfort of your very own home. Madagascan Vanilla & Miso Salted Caramel is a rich, velvety treat with an umami edge; Roasted Pistachio & Sour Cherry Swirl is nutty, crunchy, sharp and vivid; while Coffee & Cardamom is bold, aromatic and gently spiced. Take your pick! They’re all restaurant-worthy in our eyes.
Whether you eat them straight from the tub (guilty), sandwich them between biscuits or drizzle the vanilla with good olive oil, these are desserts with maximum impact and minimal fuss. The perfect alfresco entertainment staple.
‘When it comes to desserts, I’m often happier assembling than making from scratch,’ says Yotam Ottolenghi. ‘When everyone’s already satisfied and slightly wine-happy, reaching into the freezer feels like the sensible thing to do. We’ve made our own ice cream using West Country cream and folded in combinations that make me smile. Plus, they’ve been a saviour after I’ve served up a big summer feast.’
They’re available at Waitrose for a limited time only, at £6 a tub.
