We were already a nation obsessed with all things pistachio so it’s no surprise that once the Dubai chocolate trend launched it was going to keep rolling until the nutty, chocolate and crunchy pastry-based treat had infiltrated every food aisle in the shops (well, maybe not the meat aisle, but never say never!)
The latest addition to the ‘must-try’ Dubai choc-inspired treat list comes from gourmet popcorn brand Joe & Seph’s who have launched Pistachio Cream popcorn, their take on the viral sweet trend.
“We’ve actually had this one in development for a while,” said Joseph Sopher, founder of Joe & Seph’s. “We really wanted to perfect the balance between the rich, nutty flavour of pistachio and the creamy sweetness of white chocolate. It’s been a labour of love in the kitchen – and now felt like the perfect time to launch, with pistachio suddenly having a real moment.”
Ok, so it might not actually contain chocolate or the signature kadaifi pastry that gives Dubai chocolate its crunch, but with the cream flavour emulating white chocolate and the crisp snap of the caramel-coated corn, it’s sure to find fans amongst lovers of the classic Dubai bars.
And while you’re browsing the popcorn aisles, there are a few other unusual options you might like to try. Here are the GH Cookery Team’s all-time favourite Joe & Seph’s popcorn flavours...
Cookery Editor Emma Franklin: Goat’s Cheese and Black Pepper
Addictive is the only way to describe this. Has to be strictly rationed or the entire bag vanishes in 10 seconds.
Senior Cookery Writer Alice Shields: Double Salted Caramel
Slathered in salted caramel then finished with an extra sprinkle of flaked sea salt, it’s sweet popcorn for people who don’t want it *too* sweet.
Senior Cookery Writer Grace Evans: Marmite
Floating between sweet and savoury, this combo of caramel and the ‘love it or hate it’ spread is divisive, but delicious.

When not developing recipes, writing features or styling food for photography she can be found hiding behind the mountain of cookery books that’s slowly overtaking her house, or exploring restaurants, food shops and festivals in search of the next big thing to share with readers.
