The seeds of a chilli pepper are the hottest part, which means for many, this isn't something they want to be cooking with. However, there's a simple way to deseed and dice a chilli to keep all that fantastic flavour, minus the spice.

Plus there's no need to invest in one of those chilli deseeders - result!

STEP 1: Chop the stalk end off, and using a knife slice lengthways through the chilli.

STEP 2: Taking a teaspoon, scoop the chilli seeds and white pith out.

STEP 3: Make sure you clean the chilli seeds away before going on to dicing your chilli.

STEP 4: To dice - start by thinly slicing the chilli from the stalk end down to the shorter tip, not starting completely at the top so that the chilli stays in tact (this will make it easier to dice).

STEP 5: Then finally dice the chilli, being sure to keep your fingers away from the blade. Be sure to wash your hands afterwards thoroughly!
