Not all of us have time buy a whole lettuce and prepare it for our Summer salad, and we can all admit it's super convenient to grab the pre-made, pre-washed salad bags in the supermarket.
While bagged salad scores a 10 for convenience, it's not so high on the scale for freshness, and can go off pretty quickly.

However, our friends over at Delish shared with us a pretty cool hack they came across to keep bagged greens fresher for longer.
When you get home, open the bag and pop a paper towel inside, this will absorb the moisture and keep the greens, actually green, and incredibly tasty.
Another salad hack we can vouch for is blowing a little air into the plastic bag before sealing it. The carbon dioxide from your breath keeps the greens greener for longer. Although we don't recommend doing this if others will be eating the lettuce too.
Anything that makes it easier to eat a salad deserves to be recognised...
