Percy Pig turns 30 next year and is arguably a national treasure, but did you know we've never heard him speak? We've had so many Percy treats and recipes and toys and seasonal novelties, but have you ever wondered what he sounds like? Well we're about to find out.
M&S Food’s 2021 Christmas advertising campaign reveals his voice for the first time and after teasing the A-list reveal on Instagram, M&S has now announced it's Spider Man himself, internationally renowned actor Tom Holland.
Premiering 8:40am Thursday during ITV’s Good Morning Britain, this is the first of eight festive adds from the retailer. This one shows a special Christmas fairy, none other than Dawn French, causing some havoc in the Stratford foodhall, London, who drops her wand and brings Percy to life, ready to discover all the M&S Christmas Food.
It's the first time ever we're hearing Percy speak and Tom said in the release; "I’ve loved Percy Pigs for as long as I can remember, and when I was asked to be his voice – his first EVER voice – it took me less than a second to say yes. Getting the snort right was a challenge, but I hope I nailed it and you all like what you hear! I did consider asking for a lifetime supply of Percy Pigs but I figured I’ve got to save room for all of that amazing M&S Christmas food!"
