We love a good twist on the humble and delicious hot cross bun, and this one's brilliant.

The best twists are fabulously creative while still using flavours that work. And Asda's new addition for Easter 2021 definitely ticks those boxes.

The supermarket has dubbed its Tomato and Red Leicester Hot Cross Buns, 'pizza hot cross buns'! Saying they deliver the: "The much-loved tomato and cheese taste notes of pizza into hot cross bun form for an Easter taste sensation."

Say no more!

Becky Price, ASDA’s Hot Cross Bun Product Developer said in a press release, "We’re always looking for fun and innovative products that bring people together and get people talking – and there’s no better product than the humble Hot Cross Bun to spark conversation!

"Whether you like yours sweet or savoury – there’s plenty of great value options at ASDA and we are sure Hot Cross Bun lovers will enjoy trying our new Tomato and Red Leicester flavour."

If savoury hot cross buns aren't really your thing, the supermarket is also introducing St Clements Hot Cross Buns with Spanish lemon peel, orange zest and, vine fruits and Baker’s Selection White Chocolate and Caramel Hot Cross Buns. Both of which sound mouthwateringly tasty.

These delicious new additions join returning favourites like Belgian Chocolate Hot Cross Buns, Apple and Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns and Free From Hot Cross Buns.

We want to try them all! So may need to have hot cross buns for breakfast lunch and dinner for a while. No complaints about that.

ASDA’s Extra Special Tomato and Red Leicester Hot Cross Buns launch in stores and online now for £1 per pack of four.
