Little chefs and budding bakers will now be able to learn new culinary skills from the comfort of their homes, as Waitrose have announced it's launching virtual cooking classes for children over the summer holidays.
The cook-along classes will help teach juniors new tips and tricks in the kitchen, as well as how to whip up some tasty treats.
The lessons will be taught by Waitrose Partners and Cookery Schools’ very own chefs via Zoom and will run from 10am every Tuesday to Thursday. They will also cost £10 per household and last one hour each.
Children will be shown everything from new techniques to pastry making, learning basic knife skills and creating delicious recipes.
“We are looking forward to joining families in their own kitchens and helping to teach the next generation new skills and sharing our love of food,” said Kirsty Scott from the Waitrose & Partners Cookery School in a release.
“Our online Waitrose & Partners Cookery School courses have been incredibly popular through lockdown, so we’re thrilled to be opening these up to children as well.”
The next class, taking place from the 28-30 July, will focus on apple and cinnamon buns.
On signing up for each class, families will receive a full list of the ingredients and equipment needed, so you'll have everything you need to create your treats.
Future workshops include learning how to make mackerel pâté, Welsh cakes and ricotta pancakes.
BOOK NOW Workshops can be booked through the John Lewis events page here.
